The company OTECO was founded in the Czech Republic in the year 1992, as a subsidiary of OTECO Wien. At present, it designs and manufactures a complete collection of shot blasting machines in its factory in the town Bučovice on the south part of Moravia. It employs about fifty employees, of which the eight designers try to satisfy every non-standard wish of the customer. OTECO produces both pressure blasting machines and blasting machines with impellers. These machines are produced in standard series or as special machines designed according to the customers needs.
The company OTECO designs and manufactures compressed air shot blasting machines and impeller shot blasting machines. These machines are manufactured in a serial design, or as special machines according to the needs of the customer. Pressure shot blasting machines blast shot by mixing it in compressed air flow. The blasting process is performed manually. The necessary protective gear for the worker is supplied with the machine.
Shot blasting machines with impellers use rotating impellers to blast the shot at the workpieces. The process is fully automatic. The loading of workpieces can be automatic, semi-automatic or manual, depending on the machine type and its equipment. Under the tab other machines are machines which do not fit in the two other categories. These can be individual machines or devices used with other shot blasting machines. The spare parts for shot blasting machines and the special machines designed according to individual client needs are also found here.

Shot blasting machines with impellers
These machines use rotating impellers to blast the shot at the workpieces. The process is fully automatic. The loading of workpieces can be automatic, semi-automatic or manual, depending on the machine type and equipment.
Shot blasting machine SMART with rotary drum
The shot blasting machine SMART is designed for shot blasting workpieces, which are freely put on an infinite, trough shaped conveyor belt. The movement of the belt rotates and mixes the workpieces. The concurrent blasting and mixing enables quick and perfect cleaning of the blasted workpieces. To enable easier loading, the machine can be equipped with an automatic loader (SKIP).
Shot blasting machine OPTIMA with hook conveyor
The machine is designed for shot blasting workpieces hanged on a hook. The machine can blast single workpieces or groups of workpieces. In the case of shot blasting workpiece groups, a so called tree is used. The shape of the tree is designed according to the size and the shape of the blasted workpieces. The machine is equipped with a pair of hooks, which can be moved on a track. The track's shape can resemble Y, T, I, or V. This enables the loading or unloading of one hook, while the other is inside the blasting chamber.
Tunnel blasting machine MAXIMA
The machine MAXIMA enables continual automatic shot blasting of steel sheets and profiles, pipes, weldings and other materials. The blasted workpieces pass through the blasting chamber on a roller conveyor track. The tunnel design enables the mounting of the machine in the production line. The presence of workpieces in the blasting chamber is monitored by sensors. The blasting process is stopped if there is no workpiece to be blasted.
Special machines with impellers
These machines are designed and manufactured according to the special needs of the customer. Most of the machines already delivered are automatic machines for mass shot blasting of uniform workpieces, for example gas bottles, wires, stones, pipes, pans, etc.
Compressed air shot blasting machines
These machines blast shot by mixing it in compressed air flow. The blasting process is performed manually. The necessary protective gear for the worker is supplied with the machine.
Injector cabin with filter
The injector shot blasting cabin is used for manual blasting of small and medium sized workpieces, which are inserted into the cabin through the side opening. The worker puts his hands in the working area through the oval openings on the front side of the cabin. The openings are equipped with gloves made of wear resistant rubberised material. The blasting process is started and stopped using a foot switch.
Pressure cabin with filter
The pressure shot blasting cabin is used for blasting small and medium sized parts. Its usage is similar to injector cabin. However, the different technology enables higher blasting performance. The only tradeoff is, that the blasting process must be interrupted for a short time when the pressure vessel is empty.
Complete shot blasting boxes
The shot blasting box is a machine used for manual blasting of workpieces of arbitary size and shape. It is appropriate for users who want to blast a wide selection of workpieces with diverse size and shape. The blasting performance is determined by the number of pressure blasting sets connected to the machine and by the performance of the air compressor supplying the machine. The whole machine is designed according to the individual needs of the customer. OTECO already supplied over 45 machines of this type, of which approx. 15 work outside the Czech Republic.
Hand-held shot blasting sets
This device consists of a pressure blasting vessel and of the protective gear for the worker. The pressure vessel is attested and is equipped with a dosing device. During the blasting process, the vessel is hermetically sealed from the inside. This enables the necessary air pressure to be built up, which is the used to feed the shot through the feeding valve into the compressed air flow. The pressure vessels have a capacity of 20 to 200 litres.
Other machines
EKOLOG shot cleaning unit
The usual shot used for open area blasting is siliceous sand. It is however in conflict with the valid hygienic standards because of the high risk of silicosis. The solution of this problem is the usage of high-quality recyclable shot, which is cleaned after being blasted using the EKOLOG cleaning unit. The shot recycling reduces the operating cost, and the high-quality shot ensures perfectly smooth workpiece surface and higher blasting performance, and the blasting method is in accordance with the hygienic norms...
OTECO impellers
The impellers for our machines are also manufactured by us. Because the price of the impellers, and more importantly the price of the impeller spare parts (fast-wearing parts) are much lower than the prices of our competitors, we offer to exchange the impellers on older machines for OTECO impellers. The cost of the new impellers returns in a short time in the form of savings on the spare part purchases.
Ecologic filters with fan
The filters OT JP are designed for separating dry mechanical contamination (dust) from air. The method of filtering cartridge cleaning enables uninterrupted operation, without the necessity to turn off the fan during the cleaning process. The advantage of the cartridge design compared to others is it's relatively small size. Because of this, it takes up much less space by maintaining the same cleaning performance.
Special custom-made machines
Apart from standard shot blasting machines, OTECO also manufactures special machines, which are designed according to the specific needs of our customer. An example of this activity are the single-purpose manipulators for electric distribution board installation manufactured for ABB Düsseldorf. Different carts and manipulating mechanisms for shot blasting stations and paint shops also belong in the category of special machines.
